As a well-established Tex-Mex bar and restaurant serving the community since 1999, Red Rocks Café & Tequila Bar had never ventured into the online space.

tasked with bringing the ethos of this classic establishment to a mobile-friendly digital platform.

I took on the challenge of translating the unique character of Red Rocks into an immersive online experience that would capture the attention of both loyal patrons and new visitors alike.

Challenges

Red Rocks, with over two decades of business under its belt, faced a challenge with their newly registered domain name, posing a problem for SEO. Another obstacle they had to overcome during the COVID-19 pandemic was the issue of printing single-use paper menus, which was not sustainable for their restaurant & bar.

Solution

We devised a strategy to address two objectives with one solution: replacing all in-house, single-use printed menus with QR Menus strategically placed at every bar, table, and fixture throughout the venue. We also advised on-site staff to encourage patrons to use the QR Menus.

Not only did this result in a significant reduction in printing costs, but the site views generated through the QR Menus also helped boost the Red Rock’s SEO. Our innovative approach effectively addressed the client's needs and resulted in tangible benefits for their business.

Results

Within a mere 5 months of launching the website, Red Rocks had garnered nearly 30,000 pageviews. Among the most popular content on the site were the QR Menus, which led visitors to explore the rest of the site.

This surge of traffic has enabled Red Rocks to catapult from an average position of 52 to a top ranking of 8 on Google search results. In addition, the elimination of the need for printing and distributing thousands of single-use paper menus has led to significant cost savings for the establishment.
